QIANHAI International Talent Port will be put into operation in January next year, aiming to lure global scientific and technological innovation talents, the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone announced at a promotion meeting held in Shanghai.

The service center will serve as an important platform for international talents seeking employment, entrepreneurship, investment and lifestyle on the Chinese mainland and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In its early stage, the center will offer 48,000 square meters of office space, where about 52 enterprises and institutions, including headhunting agencies, professional training centers and human resources service providers, will be introduced to offer quality and comprehensive services to international talents.
It will feature five major centers of sci-tech innovation, high-end headhunter video recruitment, talent scouting and investment, talent big data, and offshore services, offering one-stop services to international talents.
In early November, Qianhai released a package of 100 one-stop services for international talents.
The service package was tailor-made for six types of talents, namely strategic scientists, leading technologists, young technologists, outstanding engineers, Hong Kong youths and overseas talents. The services cover talents’ every aspect of work and life in Qianhai.
Strategic scientists will receive Qianhai’s funding support if they set up research and development centers and industrial innovation centers in the area. They will also enjoy high-end apartments free of charge for certain periods, have their children and spouses enrolled in quality schools citywide and recommended to Qianhai firms for employment, respectively, and obtain housing and car purchase quotas, among others.
Overseas talents can get job recommendations at Qianhai-based enterprises, enjoy fast and convenient application services for temporary and permanent work and residence permits and business visas for traveling to Hong Kong and Macao, and receive legal risk analysis and consulting services for coming to Qianhai for business and employment.
Qianhai is the first zone on the mainland to exempt Hong Kong and Macao residents from obtaining employment permits, and it is the first to have launched tax subsidies for overseas high-end talents. Under this scheme, it has gathered more than 6,000 overseas talents and 577 high-level talents, according to the authority.
