Dicussion on how to promote cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, particularly the development of Qianhai and cultural industries, would be highlights of this year’s session of the city’s top advisory body, the Shenzhen Committee of the CPPCC announced yesterday.
The session will be held from Jan. 15 to 18, when important works for Shenzhen’s political and economic development in the next five years would be planned. It will be the first time in 20 years that the session would be held at this time of year, only six months since the last session in June.
This meeting, along with the local legislative session, would be important to Shenzhen as it would discuss the key projects and development direction for the city in the next five years, Cheng Kewei, general secretary of the local CPPCC session, told a press conference yesterday.
There would also be proposals dealing with how to increase incomes, how to promote cultural and creative industries, how to solve problems related to residents’ livelihoods, how to promote development in Pearl River Delta areas and how to promote the economy and urban construction in Longgang and Bao’an districts and Guangming and Pingshan new zones, Cheng said.
The CPPCC submitted 103 proposals for the city’s development between 2010 and 2015 last year, 98 of which were accepted by the city government, including industrial upgrading.
